Biography
My name is Iskhakov Jahongir. I was born on May 28, 1993, in the city of Turkestan, Republic of Kazakhstan, in a family of medical professionals. From an early age, I was surrounded by an atmosphere of science and a passion for knowledge. In 1998, my family moved to Chirchik, Tashkent region, where I received my primary education at School No. 26 and later continued my studies at the Academic Lyceum.
In 2013, I enrolled in the Tashkent branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, choosing a technical specialization. After successfully completing my bachelor's degree in 2017, I pursued my master's studies at the university’s main campus in Moscow, specializing in well operation under complex conditions.
After graduating in 2019, I began my professional career at Geo Research and Development Company as a hydrodynamics engineer. Through dedication, continuous learning, and a commitment to professional growth, I was promoted to Head of the Hydrodynamic Modeling Department within four years. However, realizing the scale of environmental and water-related challenges facing our country, I decided to shift my career focus toward addressing these critical issues.
In 2023, I joined Center for Space Monitoring and Geoinformation Technologies, a company that actively utilizes remote sensing technologies (RS) to tackle complex problems in water resource management, food security, illegal deforestation prevention, and subsurface monitoring.
Currently, I hold the position of Project Manager in the Water Management division, leading a team of over 10 specialists. We actively implement space technologies to monitor water resources and agricultural fields across Uzbekistan. Our work includes digitizing the entire irrigation network, identifying water-stressed areas, and providing recommendations for the efficient use of water resources.
I firmly believe that modern technologies, particularly those based on remote sensing data, can significantly improve water resource management and mitigate the adverse effects of climate change. My goal is to contribute to the adoption of innovative solutions that will help ensure sustainable water usage and availability for all stakeholders.
