About eoVision
eoVision GmbH comprises the two business areas eoVision Media and eoVision Consulting. While eoVision Media can be described as a start-up company, the company has been active in the geoinformatics and remote sensing business for many years. The focus is on the processing and provision of geodata and remote sensing products as well as advice and services for professional geoinformatics users.
eoVision Media produces illustrated books, atlases, posters, games and non-fiction books on the topics of geography, the environment, globalization and sustainability in-house and in cooperation with other publishers. The company's extensive image archive is also available for licensing to media companies, publishers, film producers and television stations.
The starting point for the products usually comprises exciting and high-quality satellite images and maps, which are characterized on the one hand by their aesthetic effect, but which often also hide exciting and explosive stories. An interdisciplinary team from the fields of biology, geography, surveying and physics provides the necessary background knowledge. The bestseller "Human Footprint" has been sold in over 50 countries worldwide and images from the book are shown in the form of a traveling exhibition in renowned natural history museums.
Special publications are devoted to water issues, such as the coffee table book “Water – Discovery of the Blue Planet” and the satellite image atlas “World of Water” produced in cooperation with Globe View for the European Space Agency ESA.
eoVision Consulting covers the business areas of satellite data, geoinformatics and remote sensing as well as research and development. Among the projects of eoVision Consulting are Envionmental and Social Impact Assessments (e.g. for the Ndembera River Dam project, Worldbank) and LUCAS mapping campaigns (Eurostat).
The customers of eoVision Media and eoVision Consulting include renowned institutions such as the European Space Agency ESA, many well-known media houses, magazines, daily newspapers, advertising and film agencies, museums as well as numerous companies and organizations worldwide.
