Biography
Riadh Abdelfattah is a Professor specializing in Artificial Intelligence applied to Remote sensing data. His primary focus lies in applications related to water resources and soil resources management. Additionally, he serves as a member of the CNEEA, the Tunisian National Committee for Outer Space Affairs. In his capacity, Riadh is tasked with contributing to the capacity building of Tunisian stakeholders involved in shaping the future strategy for water management, particularly towards EAU 2050.
Recently, he organized a Capacity Building Workshop in Tunisia titled "EO and Copernicus data & services" on Tuesday, 28 November 2023. This event aimed to enhance the EO Capacity building in Tunisia and was co-organized by the Operational Unit "BEYOND Centre of Earth Observation Research and Satellite Remote Sensing" of the National Observatory of Athens, in collaboration with PRAXI Network/FORTH. During the workshop, Riadh introduced the Thematics of Soil Degradation and Water Resources to relevant stakeholders in Tunisia, thereby enhancing their knowledge and understanding of existing capacities, skills, and needs in the field.
