Groundwater‐dependent ecosystems
"Ecosystems can be defined as groundwater-dependent when whole or part of their water demand is supplied by groundwater and, in the absence of it, the ecosystem functions will be impaired, leading to fundamental alterations of the structure of the ecosystem itself." (Orellana et al., 2012).
