Gravity anomaly
A gravity anomaly is the difference between the measured gravity at a location and the theoretical gravity predicted by a uniform, featureless Earth model. It reflects local variations in Earth's mass distribution caused by factors such as mountain ranges, groundwater changes, or mantle convection (NASA Earth Observatory, 2004).
