Retrieval algorithms

Retrieval algorithms are computational methods used to derive geophysical or environmental parameters (such as temperature, humidity, or soil moisture) from remotely sensed observations, typically satellite or airborne measurements. These algorithms transform measured radiances or backscatter into meaningful physical quantities through models, statistical methods, or machine learning techniques (NASA, 2022).
