Biography
Bernard Michael Akwasi Poku Otchere, a dynamic Environmental Engineer from Ghana, stands at the forefront of innovative solutions addressing water-related challenges. Armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Bernard's expertise lies in the intersection of environmental science and sustainable development.
During his undergraduate studies, Bernard spearheaded a pioneering research project titled "Water Quality Analysis on Public and Household Water Sources – A Case Study of Sunyani-West District, Fiapre." Through meticulous assessment against WHO standards, Bernard ensured the safety and accessibility of drinking water sources crucial for community well-being.
Transitioning seamlessly into academia, Bernard assumed the role of Teaching Assistant in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department under the guidance of Professor Francis Attiogbe. Here, he imparted invaluable knowledge in courses ranging from solid waste management to environmental chemistry, nurturing a new generation of environmental leaders.
Driven by a profound commitment to effecting tangible change, Bernard pursued advanced studies, earning a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering and Management. His groundbreaking thesis, "Geospatial Mapping and Analysis of Water Demand, Abstraction, Withdrawal, and Availability of the Tano River Basin, Ghana," showcased his adeptness with tools such as ArcGIS and arcSWAT, offering crucial insights into water resource management strategies within the region.
