Biography
I am an indigenous Boruca woman, a Topographical Engineer from the National University of Costa Rica, I have more than 10 years in professional practice, both in public and private institutions, since the beginning of my academic training I have been contributing to the rights of indigenous peoples. I have full knowledge of territorial planning in Areas under special regime, in addition to this, I have been part of the specialized team for more than 8 years of the National Plan for the Recovery of Indigenous Territory (PLAN RTI), a Government initiative executed by the Rural Development Institute INDER, whose purpose is to “regularize the possession of land in indigenous territories and recover lands that are in the possession or occupation of non-indigenous people,” during which time I have contributed my extensive knowledge about the socio-cultural reality of indigenous peoples. and its situation related to lands and territories focused on my professional training as a surveyor, i have worked in the 24 indigenous territories of the country , in addition my scientific training in the areas of remote sensing and geodesy has opened up new areas where the rights of indigenous people must be protected and the place where they live. I am a cultural facilitator, with experience in local communities and indigenous peoples, where natural resources have been conserved.
