Biography

Hafsa Aeman is a Senior Research Officer at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Pakistan. In this capacity, she is deeply involved in various projects, notably the Water Resource Accountability in Pakistan (WRAP) and NEXU Gains initiatives, both supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO). These projects are geared towards augmenting capacity for water resource management at the provincial and district levels.

Hafsa holds a Master's degree in Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry from Wuhan University, China. She prides herself on successfully integrating her work into policy and decision-making structures. Her publications not only delve into remote sensing-based assessments but also shed light on their policy implications at the grassroots level.

With a professional background in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Hafsa specializes in integrating remote sensing technologies to bolster informed conservation planning. Her responsibilities encompass the development of Local Adaptation Plans of Action and the execution of Vulnerability Risk Assessments. Prior to her tenure at IWMI, Hafsa held positions as a Research Associate and GIS Analyst at WWF, Pakistan, and served as a Research Associate at the Information Technology University (ITU), contributing to the AI4GLOF program for Glacier Lakes Detection and Mapping.
